Mid-Level Crimmigration Paralegal
Are you an experienced paralegal with 2-5 years of Immigration and/or Criminal Law experience interested in pursuing a career at a growing boutique law firm? Join TheBajLawGroup PLLC – the premier boutique law firm specializing in Immigration, Criminal Defense, and Business Law, led by attorney Vishrut Shelat, Esq.
Role Structure:
- Phase I (Trial Period): Part-time (3 days/week, 4 hrs/day), starting March 6, 2026 through May 1, 2026. $1,000/month stipend during training.
- Phase II (Full-Time): Starting May 1, 2026 with $3,600-$4,500/month salary + benefits package.
Key Duties:
- Client Intake: Work with Attorney on intake for Immigration and Criminal Defense clients
- Criminal Defense: Experience with pretrial cases (DUI/DWI, petty theft, simple assault, etc.)
- Motions Drafting: Pre-trial motions (suppress, summary judgment, sever, strike, terminate, change venue)
- Immigration (EOIR): Defensive Asylum applications, PSG briefs, ACH defense briefs
- Immigration (USCIS): I-130, I-485, I-589 (Asylum), VAWA, EB visas, SIJS, and more
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years law firm experience in Criminal Defense OR Immigration Law (experience in one required)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word & Adobe Acrobat (critical requirement)
- Experience with eImmigration, Clio, or similar CRM software
- Self-starter who can work independently after training
- Willing to relocate/commute to Washington, DC 20001
- Willing to participate in firm marketing (TikTok, YouTube, META)
- Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Telugu, or Tamil (bonus, not required)

📅 Interview Timeline
- Phase I (Feb 2-15): 30-min Zoom screening with Paralegal & Business Team (top 30 candidates)
- Phase II (Feb 16-20): 30-min group interview with Attorney & Paralegal Team (top 6 candidates)
- Phase III (Feb 21-25): 5-day open-book remote Paralegal exam
- Phase IV (Feb 26 - Mar 1): Exam grading, top 2 candidates selected
- Final Decision: Announced by March 2, 2026 | Start Date: March 6, 2026
